5G WiFi IEEE 802.11ac – Gigabit speeds at a greater range

Who wouldn’t want greater speed, range and longer battery life from their WiFi devices? At the 2012 CES, Broadcom introduced a family of IEEE 802.11ac chips based on the 5th generation of Wi-Fi (5G WiFi). The four different implementation solutions range from the single stream (up to 433 Mbps) to the 3-stream (up to 1.3 Gbps). Speech to Speech Translation

Microsoft Research demonstrated a prototype called “The Translating Telephone” at the annual Microsoft TechFest event in March 2010. Ultimately the system demonstrated a speech to speech translator. The demonstration successfully translated a conversation between an English speaker and a German speaker. Although the prototype wasn’t perfect it was still a very impressive demonstration.
